We can learn psychological skills for living a better life. We can learn how to communicate more effectively, develop habits for resilience, and reframe our difficult experiences. But looking more deeply than skills, what are the precious attributes that form our magnificent psychological core? Here are a few to consider.

Curiosity

Among our great gifts, this attribute might seem unlikely. But consider its potency: curiosity can get us out of bed in the morning and sustain us through our loneliest times. Curiosity makes the world new each day and propels us along our journeys.

Curiosity convinces us to travel and to meet those who are different from ourselves. It invites us to grow. Curiosity is the doorway to learning and wisdom.

Research shows that we prefer to satisfy our curiosity even over sating our appetites with food.

Curiosity makes life interesting – and makes us interesting in the process. Curiosity says that we might be many things, but we are not bored or boring.
