Imagine a partner running a single finger along the inside of your naked thigh — or tracing a barely perceptible line from the back of your neck down the length of your spine. Imagine hearing the creaking of leather or the gasps of erotic breaths — or catching a whiff of a slightly sweet, musky scent.

These are some of the “barely-there” stimuli that play into the orgasms of some of our brains. Perhaps we all can learn something from ASMR eroticism.

ASMR

Our Autonomous Sensory Meridian Responses (ASMR) excite us, relax us, and put us to sleep. They can generate feelings of profound wellbeing that help relieve anxiety and depression. They can give us scintillating chills, tingling, and a powerful “rush.” And they can enhance the exquisiteness of sex.

Perhaps ASMR is related to synesthesia. Those who have synesthesia experience a “cross-wiring” of sensory input. They might “taste” sound and “feel” color.

In ASMR, we seem to feel sound. We find little whispers…
